Conservative MP Robert Halfon, who has done so much work in support of FairFuelUK in Parliament, has managed to secure a debate on Wednesday 23rd May in the Commons about the impact of Fuel Duty. This isn’t our ‘main campaign move’ in Parliament (that’s coming in June) – but it will certainly help keep the pressure up. So, if you are able to click here http://action.fairfueluk.com/stop3p you’ll see that the email message we are suggesting you send encourages your MP to attend the debate on Wednesday as well as show support for our ‘main move’ later in June.
As Robert Halfon says, ‘I welcome the Prime Minister's recognition that families are struggling with fuel bills. That is why the Government cut fuel duty in 2011 and froze it again in January 2012. But fuel prices are still crushing our economy. I am urging the Government to think again on the August increase, and to do everything in their power to cut petrol and diesel prices at the pump’. http://action.fairfueluk.com/stop3p
