AS A PENSIONER I HAVE HAD TO GIVE UP USING MY VEHICLE 2 DAYS A WEEK.
I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THE DIESEL, WHY IS DIESEL 6P DEARER THAN PETROL. THE GOVERMENT ENCOURAGED US TO USE DIESEL IN THE FIRST PLACE.
IN EIRE DEISEL IS 6 CENTS CHEAPER. WHY?
GET THE PRICES BACK IN LINE AND CHEAPER OR I WILL SELL MY CAR, THEN YOU WONT GET THE ROAD TAX EITHER

These people in parliament do not live in our world, they are cushioned by credit cards,excellent pensions and high wages.
Most of their work is done by the EU now
and they must find it hard to find something to do,except of course tax the
lower echelons out of existance.
At least 40p off the litre and the country
would recover much quicker. Lower prices,be
more competitive which would sell more of
our products allowing extra tax revenue.
AND DO NOT GIVE OUT BILLIONS OVERSEAS TILL WE CAN AFFORD IT.

Its time this government started to look after its own people instead of trying to save the world which will be exactly the same in a hundred years from now, our government, like the rest is out of touch and completely corrupt and the word DEMOCRACY is no more than a big joke, its time David Cameron got off his high horse and gave our people a say instead of what HE wants all the time. Fuel duty is a blatent scam by a gang of scamsters, let the people be heard.

It is high time urgent consideration is given to the
problem of very high fuel tax on petrol and diesel.
Both the public and industry and commerce in the UK would benefit from a decent reduction and it would lead to reducing the speed of inflation.
UK exports would be more competitive so leading to better balance of payments.
All sections of the UK would benefit. The electorate would be pleased!

I have to agree at least in part to both D.McIntosh & A.Bell.

A realistic reduction of £0.30 p/l would resolve a lot of hardships that SME transport companies are facing for to long. They have insufficient revenue to upgrade their vehicles to the more "environmentaly friendly" low emission, low noise etc, that only the big boys can afford. I would also prefer OUR "Big transport Boys" on our roads, instead of the Non accountable european drivers that cause so much mayhem on our roads.

How can any rational person agree that given the current domestic fuel price hikes that going duel-fuel or electric makes sense. When the viehicles cost far more to build, have a shorter life span than a traditional petrol/diesel car and do more damage to the plannet mining for the rare earth minerals to make the batteries.

The people that will, yet again pick up the bill, are the second hand buyers who wont be able to afford the maintenance costs on a 7 year old Hybrid.

This Goverment doesnt care about how hard it is for decent people to go about there every day lifes in their own cars.
Excuses for this - Excuses for that !
Sheer Greed for money no matter who it destroys, as long as their pockets are FAT - to hell with all of us !
They are what we call " Legal Crooks " !!
The Govermant Makes well over a £Billion a day from all of us thats over £365 Billion a year !
They can easierly lower fuel costs - Easierly.
They call this recession - I call it a Liberty !
This country's Biggest Mistake was to put them in charge, thus we are seriously paying the price.
I share the feelings of all motorist & I support the Fairfuel uk Campaign.

I disagree with your views.

I am a proffesional driver, and the standard of driving is so poor, that fuel is being wasted by excessive speed and late braking.
You need to address driving standards first - then maybe fuel prices could become an issue
