Why does every thing take so long to go thru parliment when the MPs are not struggling if they really wanted to help the working class ppl and job situation they would have helped to sort the tax out the petrol is over priced and it is all to do with the gready government

I would dearly love to believe that this campaign will be effective and that the current government will listen and act. However they are raking in billions of pounds in fuel duty and they are highly unlikely to relinquish that income at a time when Britain is staring into the economic abyss. Also I strongly believe that 99.9% of politicians have no time or respect for the views of the public and regard us with utter contempt. They are too busy lining their pockets and preparing for the meltdown of capitalism! Petrol will NEVER cost below £1.00 a litre again unfortunately. My advice for what it's worth? Buy an old diesel and run it virtually free on used cooking oil!

Fuel prices are having a negative effect on the rural communities & businesses of North Yorkshire. Many people have no option but to use fuel to carry out their normal daily lives.

I am disapointed that my MP Margot James does not appear to be on the list of supporters, also the AA of which I am a member since 1986 is not supporting us I will not be renewing my membership in January as I shall be joining the RAC who are supporting the campaign

As a resident of North Cornwall I am very surprised that my MP Dan Rogerson has not yet added his name to the list. I hope that this situation will alter before the debate as there are many people in this area struggling and they have no choice other than to use their vehicles to enable them to work.

i remember the days when fuel cost les than a pound. it sadens me now that i need it the most to jet to uni. it's like they don't want me to get to class and get a 'job' like they keep telling every one to do.... bunch of greedy, blind w@nkers we should do what the italians do and riot over the increased price of pasta...
[ posted by Mallisa, November 04, 2011 13:14 ]
Quite a good list, but no high profile names I wonder why?.
[ posted by Brian, November 04, 2011 13:22 ]
Whilst I support this cause, it's not the Government who are responsible for the price increases. Even though they benefit greatly from the duty they receive, we should be tackling the real problem as to why fuel prices are too high?

I'm somewhat disappointed to see that the Rt Hon Peter Bottomely MP is not on this list :-(
[ posted by James Roberts, November 06, 2011 11:23 ]
I am very disappointed to see that there are no MPs listed from the North West where unemployment and poverty is one of the highest areas in the country and people here need all the help they can get to find jobs and indeed be able to afford to get to work if they are lucky enough to have a job. Come on people stick together on this notice the fuel never goes down, after all dont people know petrol and most of all diesel is a by product of oil.

I am shocked to see my MP Mark Harper has not added his name to the list of MPs supporting this campaign. I suppose, given his past performance as our MP I should not be surprised. I will be watching his performance closely but do not give him much chance of being re-elected in this area.

I am VERY disapointed that my MP Francis Maude does not appear to be on the :-(
[ posted by Tony Wilson, November 08, 2011 20:09 ]
I am surprised and disappointed Julian Sturdy, MP for York Outer, has not added his name to the list especially as he is so appreciative of the suppoty of his voters, many of whom are in rural siruations and need a car to get around. There are many pensioner supporters of Julian and they are suffering and will continue to suffer to a greater extent whilst petrol and diesel prices continue to rise. Also why has the government not considered reducing diesel to fall in line with unleaded.
[ posted by Michael Leng, November 08, 2011 22:27 ]
I find it disappointing that my MP John Leech has not put his name on this list and I am amazed that the AA are not supporting the campaign I will also switch to the RAC when my membership comes up for renewal.
[ posted by Nobby Clark, November 09, 2011 9:33 ]
Indeed, where are the Sweaties? I have emailed my local waste of space MP to ask why he is not attending. Probably too busy entertaining his secretary at a local hotel.
[ posted by Nobby Clark, November 09, 2011 9:33 ]
Oh, and another thing, how about making the comments a tad larger?
[ posted by Carole Quinn, November 09, 2011 11:24 ]
I AM NOT REASSURED BY MY MP JIM DOBBIN'S RESPONSE, THAT HE IS SPEAKING AT A CONFERENCE IN BANGLADESH AND SAID ' IF I GET BACK IN TIME I WILL ATTEND THE DEBATE'.
IT'S COMFORTING TO KNOW THAT ISSUES IN BANGLADESH ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ISSUES AT HOME
[ posted by Patricia Abboott, November 09, 2011 19:13 ]
Only three London Labour MPs on this list!
[ posted by John Woolmer, November 10, 2011 9:57 ]
Am trying to garner local support by obtaining petition signatures...neither of our two local MPs has signed up to attend the debate.
[ posted by Elaine Ryan, November 12, 2011 16:11 ]
I have to agree with Jmcewen. Where are the Scottish MPs? Rural area's are many up here, therefore cars are a necessity not a luxury and the cost at some of the pumps per litre, are disgusting! Home heating oil is also scandalously high, again no choice but to pay it. Do something about it now! Oh, and I also not that my MP - Mr Danny Alexander is not on the list either. I wonder why?
[ posted by John, November 14, 2011 22:55 ]
Despite e-mailing him and encouraging him to attend the debate tomorrow, I'm disappointed to see my MP Chris Williamson is not listed.
I'll be watching the debate tomorrow.

I find it disappointing that my MP Tony Baldry (Oxfordshire) has not put his name on this list.
Come on Mr Baldry ..represent your constituency please!
[ posted by Patrick McEvoy, March 23, 2012 17:02 ]
Further to my comments of Oct. 2011.My MP Mark Harper (Con. Forest of Dean)still has not signed up to the campaign. I have e-mailed him several times & just received a letter full of pathetic reasons why we are having to suffer the highest fuel prices in Europe & what the Government are doing to help. HE MISSED MY POINTS. This Government need to lower TAX & VAT on fuel substantially not the stupid cutting 1p per litre which was immediately swallowed up by a price rise & legislate against the speculators that are artificially driving up oil prices. Have you seen the oil tankers lined up in inlets around our coastline, full of crude oil, waiting for the price to rise. Many have been sat there for months.
