In its 2009 Budget the Labour Government announced that in future years, fuel duties should rise by 1p a litre above inflation. The Tory Government and Coalition had no plans to stop these escalations in taxes until FairFuelUK was born.  Had Labour’s tax plans been in place the economy would have bombed, the recession would have deepened, unemployment rocketed, inflation been out of control, thousands of businesses liquidated and in actual fact there’d be very much less growth tax revenue to the Treasury from the higher tax levels.
FairFuelUK’s campaigning efforts has saved for each vehicle sector in planned taxation for 2016 as follows: 480,000 HGVs: £2,323,536,221 or £4,841 per HGV 3,200,000 LCVs: £4,979,006,189 or £1,556 per LCV 31,700,000 Cars: £6,576,437,341 or £207 per car All UK Vehicles in 2016: £13,878,979,752 or £437.82 per vehicle
